Hornsey Lane Estate Community Association

Hornsey Lane Estate

Nursery

The Hornsey Lane Community Estate Nursery has been establised since 1986. The Nursery is open to residents in the local community.

There are 20 places with 3 reserved for children under 2 years of age. There are both full and part-time places. We are open from 0830am-1730pm, 49 weeks of the year. We also run a Half Term and Summer Play Scheme for 3-4 year olds.

We are currently Piloting the 2 Year Old Nursery Education Grant Scheme (NEG) for familes meeting the Local Government Criteria, for more information please contact the Nursery Manager.

We have vacancies for 3 and 4 year olds on the NEG programme providing 15 hours FREE Nursery Education per week.

Our staff are fully qualified NVQ Level 3 and above, and our Nursery Manager has a Foundation Degree in Early Years. We have an Apprentice Childcare Practitioner at NVQ Level 2 and is currently studying towards an NVQ Level 3 qualification.

We aim to create an environment where staff, parents and children all value respect and care for each other in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. This will help children to learn through stimulating play about themselves and their world. Children are encouraged to engage in free flow play and also structured play follwing the EYFS Guidelines. A programme of activities is planned by staff each week.

The Nursery is fully inclusive and provides a high quality educational curriculum to help children become confident, effective and independent learners.

The nursery is Ofsted Registered and has so far received a 'Good' performance rating.
